St Mary's Church is an extension to our school whereby the children, teachers and parents worship, learn and enjoy together.
Not only can we develop our understanding of our 12 core Christian Values here, but we celebrate special times in the Christian calendar.
It is a place where the children feel welcomed, happy and strengthen their connection to God.
Sometimes, children may take part in leading worship outside on school on Sunday 'Family Services' and this is throroughly enjoyed by all involved.
St Mary's is located very close to our school and this means we can quickly, easily and safely walk to the church.
As well at St Mary's in Temple Guitinghave excellent close links to Guiting Power Churches, where we hold our annual Christmas Carol Service.
The Reverend Canon Katrina Scott, Rector to the Guitings and five other churches, together with Reader Jean Bird from Guiting Power, play an active part in the life of the school and, together with Tanya Robbins and Moira Anderson, serve as Foundation Governors.
Katrina, Jean and Moira lead acts of worship in school and every week through 'Open the Book' while they and their team of enthusiastic volunteers (together with children) act out stories from the Bible.
Temple Guiting School is a Church of England School with ‘voluntary controlled’ status. This means the school is entirely maintained by the Local Authority (LA) because the Church ceded ‘control’ of the school to the LA, which now meets the full cost of the school.
