We are a group of parents and staff who meet approximately six times a year to organise fundraising for our school to support the teaching staff. We also organise a wide range of social events for the school community and assist in charity events.
Annual General Meeting

9am
Venue: Temple Guiting Primary School
Thank you to you all for joining us this morning.
Apologies for Absence: Sarah Hughes
Chairman's Report:
I want to take this opportunity to highlight the work we do, and specifically, what we managed to achieve this past year.
It has been a year of change, with Annabel Wakley stepping down from Chair in the summer of 2024, Laura Crabtree taking it on to the New Year, and then my taking on the role in January of this year.
Annabel held the post for 5 years and we should all applaud and thank her for her dedication and hard work in all that she did for the school. When she mentioned that she was going to step down I think the whole parent body looked around and thought, "Blimey, who is going to take on this position?", Laura didn't hesitate and thankfully took up the reins. When her personal commitments meant that she was unable to give it the time she knew it deserved, I accepted the role of Chairman.
Some fundraising highlights of the year include the car parking at The Cotswold School in May, raising just over £1500, followed a couple of weeks later with the refreshment sale in Lower Slaughter, raising over £2100. These two events were very important to us in as much as it was tapping into "external" money and not just looking to the parents to contribute. This is something that we are keen to repeat and expand upon, with plans in place to do more fundraising in Bourton-on-the-Water, tapping into the tourists there, as well as forming links with nearby Summer and Christmas Fetes.
The overwhelming generosity of the Temple Guiting parents needs a mention here. The refreshments and plant sale at Sports Day alone brought in over £440, and, when this is combined with the other fundraising activities through the year, for example, the Christmas Fayre, Ice-cream Fridays and Pimms at the summer play, it allows us to fulfill our main function, which is to support and enhance the overall experience that our children have at this wonderful school.
To this end, we have donated:
£180 to Class 2 for watches to help them learn to tell the time.
£310 to Class 4 to pay for their trip to Kingham Science Festival.
£600 to Class 3 for their trip to the Roman Baths in Bath.
£300 to Years 1 and 2 for their trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
£200 to Class 1 for their Mini Beast Zoo Lab experience.
£1300 for the new Early Years outdoor area.
£570 towards last year's Christmas Panto trip.
£450 for Diatom Dave in Science Week for the whole school.
£260 for the Leaver's hoodies.
£120 to Class 4 for their trip to the Broadway Museum.
We already have plans in place for a donation of over £2000 towards new playground markings, which you will see after half term, plus a substantial contribution towards the refurbishment work in Classes 3, 4 and the Library, which will hopefully be finished by the time we return in November.
As a committee, we are a small group of people who are the trustees of the Temple Guiting Primary School PTA Charitable organisation. As parents and teachers, we are all members of the Pta and absolutely everyone is welcome to join in and contribute; whether it is ideas, time, knowledge or resources. We have a committee meeting once every half of term, where we meet in person and also via Zoom if required. Planning is already underway for the Christmas Fayre and we have the Christmas Wreath Making Workshop already booked in; about which, information will be coming out after half term. Another project that needs looking at is an update of our constitution, which I will be looking into in the near future.
The minutes of this meeting will be posted in the school website along with the updated committee members info.
Before I finish and hand over to Lottie Green for the Treasurer's Report, I want to take this moment to publicly thank Lottie for her work as she steps down from the position of Treasurer after 5 years in the role. Thank you for the hours you have put in and the skill you have shown, and also for helping me as a Newbie these last few months.
Phil Webb
