Temple Guiting

Church of England School

Every child to thrive

The Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Temple Guiting Church of England School
Charity No. 1116093

We are a group of parents and staff who meet approximately six times a year to organise fundraising for our school to support the teaching staff.  We also organise a wide range of social events for the school community and assist in charity events.

This year the elected office holders are:

Chair: Joy Farmer (mother of Giselle in Reception and Grace in Yr2)

Vice Chair: Sophia Upton (mother of Richard in Yr5 and Patrick in Yr3)

Secretary:  Helen Murray (mother of Alice in Yr1 and Benjamin in Yr3)

Treasurers: Zoe Sellek (mother of  Tilly in Yr4 and Evie in Y1)

We hold office for one calendar year and see our role as encouraging other parents to offer their time and help.  Everybody has busy lives but we enjoy the challenge set by our excellent staff to raise money for a wide range of projects and to support school events. This year we are raising funds to update the school's IT equipment.   In previous years our efforts have provided such items as new laptops, gym equipment, rugby kits, library books and storage.

We also subsidise school outings, swimming lessons and pay for the Year 6 leavers’ gifts. The children's Christmas parties and Easter Egg Hunts are run by the PTA.

Each year the PTA organised a tremendously popular school fete.  This year we have organised a Halloween Party and a 'Quiz and Chips' event. We have an annual Easter Egg hunt to which our September intake and younger siblings are invited. In previous years we have held a ‘Fashion Show’, a Spring Ball a 'Horse and Dog Show' and ‘Bag2School’ collections of nearly new clothes.  We also organise the end year barbeque.
