Open The Book session 4.2.21 Introduction - You may remember a story from before Christmas, when Mary, Jeus's mother, visits her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth and her husband Zechariah had received some surprise news, that even in their old age they would have a baby boy, and he would be called John. Today we will hear about when the grown up John meets the grown up Jesus, and the amazing things that happen, in "When Jesus is baptised". So let's "Open the Book"...

Baby Jesus visits the Temple 28.1..21 Baby Jesus meets Simeon and Anna Watch this Open the Book story and hear about Jesus as a young 8 day old being taken to the special Temple. He meets two faithful followers of God, who immediately realise he is God's special child. They are delighted! Simeon speaks some special words and describes him as "the light for all the world". We call Jesus as the light of the world a lot in school and in church - it helps us to remember that he is with us always, however we are feeling and whatever is going on. He brightens our lives and brings joy and hope.
